FOOD FOR THE SOUL

Never surround yourself with too many tasks, if you're feeling overwhelmed by a paper due the next day, a project or just work in general, forcing yourself to work on it will only impair your thoughts. By doing so you'll only focus on wanting to get that task done so you can just move on and forget about it. Rushing in such a way can easily make you miss out on the slightest detail which can make a major difference in getting an A+, a promotion at work or just overall doing a good job. Take the time to just sit back for a bit, take a break and relax. Its always good to clear your mind before you tackle a big project.

Running the brand as a one man project isn't exactly what I'd call easy. Receiving orders, packing and shipping as well as doing photo shoots, editing pictures, meeting up with business owners interested in carrying the brand, as well as doing wholesale while at the same time MANAGING a normal 9 to 5 job, a relationship and family, it gets crazy, but somehow it just goes.

Thank god for my old high school homie Jon, ( who also happens to be FunkMeOut's most recent model ) for hitting me up and taking me out to eat. It's always good just to be able to get away from work, enjoy a nice meal with good company and just catch up. It really helps lower the stress levels.

If Asian food is your thing then check out the drool worthy pics below fam!

HITS

These are all the areas in which we've received orders/visitors, its a beautiful thing that's continually growing. I cannot express how much each and everyone's love and support for the brand means to me. All the supporters who buy our t-shirts, stocks our t-shirts, help promote our t-shirts. I just want to say THANK YOU! Without you there would be no FunkMeOut Clothing! We're such a small brand but we're constantly growing as well as always on the grind to produce fresh designs and high quality tees.

I'll find out a way to repay all of you eventually, until then thank you for all of your continued support! I love you!

Uncle Pete's On Beacon Hill

Looking for for high end casual wear for men and women? Well if you're in the Beacon Hill area of Boston,MA drop by Uncle Pete's and check them out.

With FunkMeOut! being an urban street wear brand, I have no relation what so ever with the high end fashion market. But after dropping by here the other day with a friend who happened to be friends with owner Peter Tam, and experiencing his shop first hand, Its only natural that I leave with my mind a buzz with what I've seen and have to write about it. Uncle Pete's is definitely something that deserves a good write up as well as something that the Boston scene needs to know about.

Voted "BEST OF BOSTON" in 2010's Boston Magazine for "Casual Clothing For Men", Uncle Pete's boasts an impressive line up of high end brands and styles for both genders. On the mens side you can find brands such as YMC, Rag and Bone, Rogues Gallery, KZO to name a few, whereas on the women's side you'll find Vena Cava, CDG in addition to purses and bags, not to mention they also carry some fresh looking g-shocks, socks, scarves and shoes.

The atmosphere is always warming and inviting with its hardwood floors, charming fireplace and comfy couches. Even though Boston is not known as a fashion capitol. Its good to know that establishments such as Uncle Pete's exist. Who doesn't like a hip boutique with an inviting atmosphere to come lounge around in, also with friendly service as you shop for products you most likely can't find at your local H&M? If you want to stand out and be different and t-shirts and jeans aren't you're style then this is it! Uncle Pete's also holds events every now and then so always feel free to drop by and see whats coming up, meet some new people and check out their brands. If you're a girl who's looking to change up her style or a guy who knows how to dress, come by and check them out. Tell them you heard about them through FunkMeOut! Clothing!

Fran-P "DILLALUDE SERIES" Behind-The-Scenes

Yesterday I had the honor of accompanying Boston's up and coming Hip Hip artist, Fran-P, on the set of his latest music video shoot for the "Dillalude" Series.

Even though I had arrived late for the shoot ( 2 hours late, blame my ride for never waking up ) I was still able to make it on time to witness behind the scene what Fran P and his equally talented crew do what they do best, which is continually treading on the path of creativity and craftiness to bless the world with their gifts and strive for the same goal of artistic recognition.

The vibe of the set was nothing more of positivity and creativity resonating from one another. With Director Toshiki Yashiro and company on the helms behind the camera work, Matt Burkle on producing the video and Fran P as the main lead in the video, its astounding how well they all work off of one another. Telling each other what works and what doesn't work, how a certain angle should be shot or how a certain part should sound, even down to the slightest detail of where a certain person or object should be in a shot, its easy to tell that the crew on set were no strangers to the field of audio visual mastery. It was pretty chill just to be able to be on set with Fran P and his crew. They DEF know how to do things right by having a table of FREE sandwiches out for everybody, How could I resist? Put the words "food" and "free" together and I'm already sold haha, BUT back to the point, When it comes too, they definitely know how to please a crowd BEHIND the scenes, Imagine how things are on a full scale in FRONT of the scenes, just imagine.

Its always good to see the community working so well together to drop some of the most craftiest projects I've seen in a long time within the Boston area. It was definitely a pleasure to be included on set for the video shoot. Keep a look out for Fran P and the rest of the "Dillalude Series" dropping soon.

FRAN P - DILLALUDE MORNING ( PART 1)

Its not very often that I go apesh*t over music that's being released within this day and age, even more rare is the fact that I'll find a rapper from Boston thats worth listening too. That is....until I met the homie Fran P!

For most Hip Hop heads, I'm sure that many of you would agree that the golden age of Hip Hop lies during the decades of the 80s and 90s, I'm also sure that many of you would also agree that as we entered into the new millennium, Hip-Hop as we knew it wasn't what we remembered. Cars, guns, girls, ridiculous gimmicks, THIS is today's Hip Hop? What happened to beats! Fresh rhymes, ill lyrics and flow, a message behind each track? Its crazy to see how far Hip Hop has come yet to see it so commercialized.

For this, I'm grateful to of met Boston's very own Fran P whom I have the pleasure to of met a few weeks back. Slick, crafty, talented, humble, and not to mention hungry, all of these can without a doubt be used to describe Fran-P. So hungry in fact that he's working around the clock 24/7 to produce quality after quality tracks for us to enjoy.

I'm not writing this just because I know the man but It's been so long since I've heard Hip Hop as good as this, and this is by far as good as it gets! Flowin over a Dilla beat with lyrics that not only gets ya head bobbin but also thinking as well. This my friends is what Hip Hop is all about! Check out Part 1 of Fran P's brand new video series below!

Mad Love & Respect!
